You don't need a fancy website. You need one that does a few simple things right. These are the ones we see missed most.
1. Make your phone number tap-to-call
Most people find you on their phone. If they have to copy your number, some of them won't. Your number should be a link that starts a call when tapped, at the top of every page.
2. Put your service and town in the title
The page title is the blue link people click on Google. "Home" tells Google nothing. "Tile Contractor in St. Augustine, FL | TileTek" tells it what you do and where. Your main headline should say the same thing in plain words.
3. Make it fast on a phone
Big photos straight off a camera are the most common reason a small business site is slow. Photos should be resized for the web before they go up. Open your site on your phone using cell data, not Wi-Fi. If you're waiting, your customers are too.
4. Connect Google Search Console
Search Console is free from Google. It shows which searches bring people to your site and warns you when something is broken. Set it up once, add your sitemap, and check it every month or so.
