Most Google profiles have a name, a phone number, and not much else. Every empty spot is a question a customer can't get answered, so they call someone else.
The checklist
- Hours. Make sure they're right. Nothing loses a customer faster than showing "open" when you're closed.
- Holiday hours. Google calls these "special hours." Set them before every holiday so your profile doesn't say you're open on Thanksgiving.
- Services. List every service you actually offer, in the words customers use.
- Description. A few plain sentences: what you do, where, and what makes you different. No keyword lists.
- Photos. Real photos of your work, your team, and your trucks or shop. Add new ones regularly. Skip stock photos.
- Website link. Point it to your homepage, and make sure the page loads fast on a phone.
- Logo and cover photo. Your logo should match your website and Facebook.
Set a reminder. Check your profile once a month. Google sometimes accepts edits suggested by the public, and you want to catch a wrong phone number or hours change fast.
